As a busy mama, I find it very difficult to keep up with any resolutions that I make for the new year. When we’re busy caring for others every day, it’s easy to forget about our own personal goals. Here are a few resolution ideas that may be easier to accomplish for any busy mom.

Realistic New Year's Resolutions for Busy Moms

1. I will reduce stress.

Stress is inevitable when you are running around with kids all day and constantly thinking ahead and planning. Give yourself a break and relax every once in a while in order to recharge.

2. I will drink more water.

Drinking more water has multiple health benefits such as weight control, increased energy, better skin, etc. These are all benefits that can only help any mom on the go.

3. I will get more sleep.

Getting more sleep can make the biggest difference in your life. When you are well-rested, you can enjoy your day-to-day activities even more so.

4. I will read more often.

Reading a good book every so often is a great way to relax and stimulate your mind at the same time.

5. I will practice patience.

Although children make it very hard sometimes, practicing patience is good for both you and your family.

6. I will exercise frequently.

You don’t have to spend hours at the gym to get a good workout in. Research at-home workout videos on Youtube and start your fitness journey.

7. I will save money.

Who doesn’t love a good shopping spree sometimes or iced coffee every morning? Although spending money is fun, focus on what are necessities and what aren’t, and watch your savings start to stack up.

8. I will be kind to myself.

All mothers tend to have unrealistic expectations for themselves. All you can do is try your best and remind yourself that you’re killing it!

9. I will drink less coffee.

This may be the hardest resolution on the list for any mom, but cutting down on coffee is good for your health and mind.

1o. I will spend more time on myself.

Mamas tend to always put others’ needs before their own. However, in order to continue caring for your family, you must take time to reflect on your needs and wants as well.

Being a mother is a very challenging job that requires a lot of sacrifices, so don’t beat yourself up for not having much time for other things. Make sure to set realistic expectations for yourself when you make any resolutions in order to achieve your goals.
