For the second year, EP Dentistry 4 Kids has granted Caring4Community awards, a philanthropic initiative aimed at supporting local nonprofits.
In an effort to promote awareness of organizations making a positive impact, EP Dentistry 4 Kids invited local nonprofits to compete for a chance to win one of three cash prizes totaling $10,000.
To be eligible for consideration, organizations had to be a qualifying 501(c)(3) serving either Texas or New Mexico in El Paso County or Doña Ana County. The nomination process began on April 10 and concluded on April 26. Organizations were nominated through an online form. The top-nominated organizations then entered the official voting period, which took place from May 1 to May 31.
One of the practice’s dentists, Dr. Brandi Tiner, expressed the importance of community support and the role of local family organizations in their success. “Support for our community has always been central to our mission, and partnerships with our local family organizations have been critical to our success,” said Dr. Tiner. “We decided to create this contest not only to offer financial support, but also, to bring more awareness to the organizations that impact our community in a positive way.”
Votes were tallied and the first-place prize of $7,000 was won by PDN Children’s Development Center. The second-place prize of $2,000 went to Adopt-A-MomEP. And the third-place prize of $1,000 went to Center Against Sexual & Family Violence.
