My Top 6 Songs from Family Movies

0

Let’s be real, as moms we are more caught up in animated family movies than we are in reality TV shows or even movies in general. Some of these movies have really good storylines but even better music playlists. I have found myself adding a few of the songs from various movies into my everyday playlist because they are fun and sometimes uplifting.

These are my top 6 songs from various family movies that I enjoy listening to.

Broken and Beautiful – Ugly Dolls

This song is by Kelly Clarkson and comes out in the Ugly Dolls movies. I love the message behind it as it is very uplifting and fun. I am thankful for a good friend of mine who dedicated this song to me on one of those dark days. Ever since then, I find this song to be a personal anthem for those days when I feel like I’m failing.

Happy – Despicable Me 2

This jam by Pharrell Williams is a classic. We all must admit that this song is fun and always brightens the day. This song is pretty general for everyone to feel happiness and enjoy life, and it is our usual sing-along song when doing a fun activity as a family.

Could Have Been Me – Sing 2

This song is by Halsey, and it’s very uplifting. It reminds us not to live a life where we’ll say, “I should’ve . . . ”. I like singing it with my girls as a reminder that we always have to go for what we want.

Can’t Stop the Feeling – Trolls

This is a classic dance song. Whether you are having a bad day or just feeling extra positive and sparkly, this song just comes to mind. I think we can all agree it is one of those songs that just gets stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

Remember Me – Coco

This song is one of those must-haves. It simply hits right on the spot as any Mexican family that has that special connection with Dia de Los Muertos or is just missing a loved one. While it’s not a happy song, this one is very special. It’s just one to have in the playlist for those times when we want to feel closer to the loved ones that have passed.

Everything Is Awesome – Lego Movie

While this song can honestly be sort of annoying, it can also be pretty catchy. When needing to entertain the kids during a drive and change from the ongoing baby shark playlist, this song is a fun one.

The list of must-have songs can go on and on. Often my husband and I catch ourselves playing songs in our playlists from Zombie Movie, Frozen, or even PinkFong because we play it so often we end up enjoying it.

What are some of your go-to songs from the family movies you enjoy?
