Make It Fun

  • Start a book collection
  • Let your child tell or create their own stories
  • Play games that enhance their reading skills
  • Ask them to read signs/billboards when driving or on a road trip
  • Ask them to read cooking instructions or recipes to do together

Incorporate Their Interests

Does your child love Science?

Try incorporating your child’s love for science by reading more science books! I highly recommend the books below that explain what’s under your feet and up in the air, such as soil, rocks, and minerals and birds, insects, and different types of clouds!

Video Games

Is your child a big fan of video games? Purchase video games that encourage reading. A few examples are:

  • Minecraft Story Mode
  • Brain vs Brain Academy
  • Animal Crossing

Art

You can encourage your child to read more with their love for art and crafts by purchasing an art book for them.

They can learn and read more about art, interesting facts about their drawings, or enhance their drawing skills!
