In 2021, we were in the middle of the global pandemic. As a result, my husband and I decided to move our family from Juarez to El Paso (he was born here). At that time, I was a stay-at-home mom of my daughters Emma (three) and Emilia (newborn).
Being an active and social person, I was worried about how I would adapt to the change and how I would be able to make friends and connections.
This is why 3 years ago I applied and was accepted as a proud founding contributor for El Paso Mom. There, I found the opportunity to connect with extraordinary moms. I have learned from them and have been developing my professional career as a social media coordinator for the past year. That is why I see El Paso Mom as a rewarding experience where I can combine some of my objectives and roles, like being a mom and developing my marketing career.
I like to think back and reflect on how my life in El Paso began. When El Paso Mom was born almost three years ago. Our beloved founder, Vanessa Bush, and later brilliant Lauren Hall began replicating what they had as a successful project in Albuquerque, New Mexico with ABQ Mom. We thank you for the seed of this beautiful project and for allowing us to grow it in the future.
“Changes are Critical for Evolution and Growth in Practically Everything.”
Today, I am thrilled to announce that El Paso Mom is embarking on a new era, now locally owned and operated under the co-leadership of Ana Luisa Montoya, Alejandra Salgado-Hernandez, and myself, Silvia Montoya.
This transition is not just about us but about our entire community. We are excited to evolve this project, maintaining the essence of what El Paso Mom is while introducing new activities. Projects such as volunteering, increasing support for local mom businesses, and developing more advertising services to provide the financial backbone for this project.
As we embark on this new chapter, our updated logo features our iconic starred mountain and our radiant, energy-filled sun, both illuminated in the same way our mothers are.
This is the third generation of fantastic collaborators with various backgrounds who have written hundreds of content pieces for our community. We want to thank all our current and former collaborators for being the pillars of our resources. Your contributions have been invaluable, and we are excited to continue providing family resources as a team.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our partners for their unwavering support and belief in El Paso Mom as a platform to promote their businesses. Your partnership has been instrumental in our growth. We are excited to continue improving our services for a better experience. We are grateful to each of you.
Last but not least, we want to extend special thanks to our families who, since the beginning, have been our rock and our inspiration.
Your unwavering support and belief in us have been the driving force behind starting this new phase. Thanks to our husbands for stepping up and doing their father’s job for extra hours. As a result, this has given us the time to plan and start with a business strategy. Furthermore, thanks to our kids for giving us the energy and love we need as motivation. Even if there were nights of cereal for dinner because we were more tired than usual.
We couldn’t have reached this point without your support and belief in us. As we continue consolidating and enriching El Paso Mom’s presence and the impact of this extraordinary family’s network in the borderland, we invite you to continue reading our articles and following our social media platforms.
Cheers to all El Paso Moms!
With Love,
Silvia Montoya
